1. Blow molding market
Hollow molding (blow molding) products are products made from HDPE and PET, including various bottles, barrels, agricultural and agricultural containers, industrial products such as automobile fuel tanks, and marine floats. PET is mainly used for small beverage bottles and food bottles. LDPE and LLDPE are only suitable for small, daily-use containers and flexible packaging. Large blow molding products for hollow blow molding machines generally use only HDPE as raw material. In the blow molding market of HDPE consumption structure in the three major regions and countries with developed plastics industry in the United States, Europe and Japan, European HDPE blow molding products account for about 38% of HDPE total consumption, while the United States is about 34%, just like Europe. The market with the largest share of HDPE consumption, Japan is mainly based on film consumption, and blow molding products account for about 15%. The consumption structure of HDPE blow molding products in the United States is: liquid food bottles are the largest, accounting for 31.8%, followed by household, industrial and cosmetic bottles, accounting for 22.8%, industrial barrels ranking third, accounting for 7.2%, and fourth is motorcycle oil. Bottles accounted for 6.4%, others accounted for 29.1% (tool kits, garbage cans, industrial parts, automotive fuel tanks and other automotive parts). Industrial barrels are used for chemical goods, lubricants, coatings, cosmetics and other packaging. There are different types such as wide mouth and square mouth barrels. The cover is made by injection molding. The development direction of hollow blow molding machine is multi-variety, diversified and professional. Large-scale, multi-layer coextrusion and large and medium-sized containers are developing relatively fast.
2. Domestic manufacturers and markets
Large and medium-sized hollow container manufacturing equipment is more demanding than general small blow molding machinery. Except for the storage head, the parison (wall original) control must be kept up, so not all plastic machinery factories can produce. For example, the first Beijing plastic products factory that produced 200 liters of closed plastic drums and lined barrels was introduced from Bekum, Germany. Later, Heilongjiang Yinzhou Plastic Packaging Products Factory, Jinan Plastics Nine Factory, Shandong Qingyun Plastic Factory, Dalian Plastics No.13 Factory, Jining Plastics First Factory and Qingdao Plastics Five Factory successively introduced 2000 liters of L-ring plastic barrels from abroad. In 1986, Qilu Petrochemical Research Institute and Jinling Petrochemical Plastics Factory introduced BM-201 blow molding machine from Mauser Company of Germany to produce 200-liter self-supporting L-type closed rigid plastic drum for international dangerous goods and transportation packaging, which is the second generation product. . Qilu Petrochemical is mainly used for scientific research, and the output is not large. Jinling Petrochemical initially had insufficient production due to insufficient raw materials. The output in 1990, 1991 and 1992 was 425t, 760t and 504t respectively. The same product did not keep up with development (still staying in the second generation, foreign countries have developed to the fourth and fifth generations) and institutional problems, product sales have not greatly developed, and even shrinking and declining. In 1993, the first domestically produced large-scale blow molding machine designed and manufactured by Qinchuan Machine Tool Plant was put into operation in Jiangsu Wujiang Qingyun Plastic Factory, which achieved good results. Later, it cooperated with many companies to cooperate with German and Taiwanese manufacturers. The joint venture production method produces large and medium-sized blow molding machines, such as Guangdong Jinming Plastic Equipment Co., Ltd., which can produce blow molding machines with a capacity of 230 liters of barrels using Taiwanese technology. Qinchuan Machinery Development Co., Ltd., controlled by Qinchuan Machine Tool Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Qinchuan Machine Tool Plant), can now produce 8 types of blow molding machines of different specifications. In addition, Zhangjiagang and other places also have several plastic machines capable of producing large and medium-sized hollow containers. plant.
According to the statistics of the Light Industry Association, in China's HDPE consumption, film accounted for 34.2%, pipe accounted for 16.3%, monofilament/woven bag accounted for 15.5%, hollow container accounted for 13.7%, turnover box accounted for 8.7%, and corrugated box accounted for 5.4%. Cable materials accounted for 2.4%, plates accounted for 1.6%, and others accounted for 2.2%. The proportion of hollow containers is relatively small, but it has been improved compared with previous years. According to the planning of relevant departments, it will open to 18% in 2005, and the average annual growth rate is higher than the average growth rate of HDPE consumption.
3. Raw material status and requirements:
The domestic low-density HDPE resin has a small number of grades, and the low output is one of the reasons that restrict the development of HDPE hollow containers in China. Before 1997, almost all imported resins. With the internationalization and competition in the market, the output and proportion of domestic blow molding HDPE resin are increasing year by year. Rising, currently available in the market are 5200B, 5300B, 6500B, 6145, 1158. The first three grades are only suitable for small containers, packaging detergents, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, bleaches, foods, etc., but because the performance is not as good as imported grades, such as 550s and 5202 of Phillips, many users have become accustomed to importing grades, China introduced The large blow molding grades of the device are 8200B, 1158, 6145, 6147. Actually, only 1158 and 6145 have been produced. They are all Qilu petrochemical products, all of which are butene copolymer grades. In 1998, they only produced 1158, accounting for the production of Sinopec HDPE resin. 1.4%. The 6145 is suitable for 10-100 liter containers and the 1158 is suitable for 100-200 liter containers. 6145 and the general HDPE resin prices are basically the same, and 1158 is more than 200 yuan per ton than the price of 6145, the imported materials are still more expensive than 1158, more than 500 yuan per ton, 1158 still competitive.
Blow molding of hollow containers of more than 100 liters requires the use of high molecular weight HDPE resin to meet the strength requirements of extrusion blow molding, resistance to melt reextension, 6145 melt flow rate (MFR) of 15g/10min (21.6kg load), 115g 2g/10min (21.6kg load), so 1158 production is relatively difficult, the output will be reduced, so the price is slightly higher, it is said that domestic blow molding 100 liters or so products are still selected 1158, not only the high strength of the parison, rigidity and resistance Environmental cracking and so on are also better than 6145.
4. Development Suggestions: (1) China's HDPE hollow container production has made some progress with the development of our processing machinery and the development of raw materials, but overall there is still room for development. Large and medium-sized barrels are used for various packaging, including The export packaging liquid and fuel have reached a certain scale, but like the processing equipment such as pipe profiles, there is a problem of insufficient operating rate. (2) Large and medium-sized barrel products have large transportation volume and cost, so the production area and users should not be too far away. It should be within the radius of 200 kilometers. There should be fixed customers and demand. Large and medium-sized barrels are used for chemical products. For packaging, processing plants and exporters must go through dangerous goods production and export licenses (product quality must pass, such as ensuring uniform and reasonable wall thickness, no accidents during transportation and handling). (3) The importance of product users and market is undoubtedly the first, but it also needs to solve some specific problems, such as advanced molds and expensive costs. In addition, there are air source problems, and the height of the plant is sufficient. The problems of quality, energy consumption and material consumption of domestically produced equipment and imported equipment need to be further investigated and implemented.
